Urban Relalities. Landscape Urbanism 3 Day Design Challenge.

Day 1. 6.00pm - 1.00am

Following on from our daytime discussions and spatial investigations, we continued analysis of both site flow and structure. We had two concepts at the forefront of our thinking. Constructability was a concern.
The hours wore on. And on.
Page after page of paper was covered in scribbles, drawings and explanations. The end result was a visual negotiation.
The group agreed that a fusion of both ideas was the way forward. The descision to join the concepts resulted in a mash up, aiming for a synthesis of ideas, with reduced form and structure.

Gaining a clearer sense of form became a priority as we progressed to building sm
all scale models. At this point we had discussions with engineer John which shifted our ideas again.

After more talking, drawing, experiments and speculations we had our Eureka moment. A sort of group consensus was reached on form, structure and construction. We spoke about solar lighting, vertical elements, mobility, armature, colours and flexible shapes. Rhino modelling further explore
d shape, scale, dimensions, visual harmony and structure configurations. To be continued...
